WV Days Celebration

Canaan Valley Resort will host the 14th Annual WV Days Celebration with a civil war re-enactment, authentic encampment, battlefield and surgery demonstration, presented by the Barbour Grays from Philippi, WV; 1st. West Virginia Cavalry Company “C”, the 140th Volunteers from Green County, PA, and the WV Light Artillery. These volunteers bring history to life for all to see. Family oriented – see women, service men and children dress in period clothing.
West Virginia’s local artisans and crafters will be on hand to display and sell their wares on Saturday. An Irish Road Bowling competition will take place on Sunday (time tbd).

Friday, June 18:
6pm – 8pm: Encampment Open – tour the grounds and learn how our soldiers and their families lived during these times of war.
Saturday, June 19:
9am – 8pm: Encampment Open
10am – 5pm: Artisan & Crafter Displays Open
12pm: Skirmish Demonstration (Re-enactment of Civil War battles).
4pm: Surgery Demonstration – Leg Amputation (relive surgery procedures during the Civil War era)
5:30pm: Skirmish Demonstration
9pm: Surgery Demonstration (Dark) – Leg Amputation
Sunday, June 20:
9am – 12pm: Encampment Open
12pm: Skirmish Demonstration
