Vampires, Werewolves, and Demons Class

Rosemary Ellen Guiley is one of the leading experts on the paranormal, with 42 books published on a wide range of topics. She is the world-famous author of nine encyclopedias, including The Encyclopedia of Vampires, Werewolves and Other Monsters, and The Encyclopedia of Demons & Demonology. She has worked full-time in the paranormal since 1983, and conducts numerous field investigations of haunted places and “paranormal problem zones.” Her website is www.visionaryliving.com.

Each workshop is $30 or you can come to ALL THREE for only $75! Kids 14-18 can come for only $20 per class. All three of them will count as 3 credits toward your degree at IMU.

Vampires, Truth versus Fiction, Tuesday, February 23rd, 7 pm

Vampires are real entities, but bear little resemblance to the glamorous fanged people portrayed in film and fiction. Learn about the fascinating history and folklore of vampires, some of the myths perpetrated in fiction, and the development of the vampire subcultures of psychic and blood vampires and vampire lifestylers. She will also be talking about Vampires in Film, Literature and Pop Culture. The discovery of the Eastern European vampire cult in the early 18th century launched an explosion of vampire-related arts and performing arts. Audiences were dazzled with the new monster. What does the vampire represent to us, and how has its image changed in the past 200 years? The monster has transformed from villain to superhero. Does it have any power left to horrify?

Werewolves? Who or What are They? Wednesday, February 24th, 7 pm
Do werewolves actually exist or are they merely a myth? Learn the history and mythology and folklore of werewolves.

What You Need to Know About Demons and Psychic Protection, Thursday February 25th, 7 pm
Our beliefs about the demonic side of the spirit realm is diverse. This overview captures the history of demons in Western myth, lore, religion and occultism, and what we believe about them and why. Some of the most famous possession and exorcism cases in history are covered. How can demons be recognized and what distinguishes a demon from an angry ghost in a negative haunting?

Working in the paranormal requires common sense grounding for spiritual protection against negative entities, potential spirit attachment, and infestation. What are the most effective ways to protect one’s self, before, during and after paranormal investigation or work? What are the signs of problems, and the remedies for them?
