Moonstruck Battle of the Bands

second annual Moonstruck Battle of the Bands Weekend will be held the April 30th and May 2nd. The event will have a three day Battle of the Bands competition for Rock bands. We’ll have many vendors selling different types of foods, jewelry, and leather goods. We’ll also be offering historic tours of the Lunatic Asylum, flashlight tours, and more. The Moonstruck Weekend will attract thousands over the course of the weekend.
The proceeds benefit the National Historic Landmark, Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. This West Virginia facility served as a sanctuary for the mentally ill in the mid-1800’s. The history of the building holds fascinating stories of Civil War raids, a gold robbery, the “curative” effects of architecture, and the efforts of determined individuals to help better the lives of the mentally ill.
The Asylum has also been deemed one the most haunted locations in the world. Both the Sci-fi channels “Ghost Hunters” and Travels Channels “Ghost Adventures” has visited the asylum and declared it haunted.
Admission/Parking Fee(s): $7 a day and $30 for weekend camping (Discount advanced tickets available)
